the way you carry it…

Pretty common scene! (ref: urban landscape of blr). Young women wearing jeans pants and t-shirts! T-shirt is usually just long enough to cover till an inch of the jeans. And the women trying to pull it down, straighten the t-shirts all the time, noticeably, apparently trying to cover the possibly exposed space between the shirt and the pant and more.

when they can consciously wear a dress like that, what is it that makes them conservative about the looks?! Is it the culture working in the back of the mind? Is it the half-grown submission to the invading culture? Is it the confusion between them? Is it the attitde of liberation of mind saying “I will do whatever I want and mind you, I know where I come from!!” ?

are they supposed to?

3 kids wandering in a scrub jungle in the outskirts of city see two people. A girl and a guy in some remote, deserted place and apperantly in love.

One kid is curious enough to disturb to their peace! Another not interested in whatever they are into. And one of them says “avaLigadroo buddi beDvaa! life’ae haaLagi biDutte!”

Are the ‘kids’ supposed to say this?

learn to be free

see the world fall apart
trees cut, rivers dry
rampant ignorance
who cares to live forever

see a heart here and there
sudden bursts of energy!
may be its true
the brightest burns quickest

people living their own self
or should I say selfish shortsight!
fools all around us,
preachers of the void

want to write our own song
and sing it our way too
waiting for no ordinary
to clap to our tune

am not the forgiving kind
been living the way I wished
looking for higher grounds ever
not realising where I come from

want to say thousand things to you
am sitting here talking
to strangers,
heart so far away from the head

if we see we can make that choice
leave all others to decide
we shall be free on our road
living the way our hearts desire
